Data sources and licenses

Our public knowledge base combines open reference datasets with source-backed manufacturer and regulator evidence. Every reference definition keeps its provider and license metadata.

Open reference datasets

• OBDex — generic OBD/DTC reference data distributed under CC0-1.0.
• DTC Database — generic and manufacturer-specific DTC definitions from the Wal33D/dtc-database project, imported under the repository's MIT license.

Official and high-trust evidence

Our verification pipeline also processes manufacturer communications, NHTSA records, service bulletins, recalls, owner/service documentation and other source-bound technical evidence.

Attribution

Where a code page uses reference data, its source and license are displayed. A reference definition is not presented as official model applicability unless our verification layer independently supports that connection.
