How we verify EV diagnostic information

EV Diagnostics does not treat every code found online as equally reliable. Each item is published with a visible evidence level so readers and search systems can distinguish discovery data from source-backed vehicle applicability.

Reference

Openly licensed DTC datasets are used as a broad discovery layer. They can provide a code and description, but they do not by themselves prove that a code applies to a particular EV model or model year.

Accepted research

Curated project research can add manufacturer, model and warning context. These records remain distinct from official verification until stronger evidence is available.

Verified

Verified records require source-bound evidence from an official manufacturer, regulator, service bulletin, technical publication or another high-trust source. Model/year applicability and safety claims are never inferred when the source does not establish them.

Safety

When safe-to-drive, safe-to-charge or service urgency is not explicitly supported, the site shows it as unknown. We do not invent repair steps or safety conclusions from a code description alone.
